Here is the cover of LOVE LETTER AND LEUSER

Here's my new novel. I hope you like it :).

Sinopsis

Ketika akhirnya Laras meninggalkan Leuser, pertanyaan besar tetap membayanginya.

No Nanny, No Worry. Really?

Finally rainy season is coming. Exactly a month after the horror of having no nannies/house-care assistants. If I evaluate it myself, actually Koh Hun Bun and I are doing quite great surviving in no nannies/house-care assistants+both parents work+no grandmas/family support system situation. Although, I must confess that I REALLY NEED a good sleep and me time (a.k.a gardening and going to salon for foot reflexology). BIG TIME. But, those are just sweet dreams at this moment. Reality says that the toddler and the baby, plus their daddy, have to be priorities. And mommy has to prolong her patience and strength to make things work. By the way, daddy is working hard too in taking care of the family. So, thank you, Koh Hun Bun, for being an awesome partner ;). And thank you, Daycare, for your assistance.

Anyway, last week I was assigned to go to Bali for ASEAN Regional Knowledge Network on Forest Law Enforcement and Government agenda. Since Koh Hun Bun could not handle two kids by himself, I had to bring one of them with me. After numerous negotiations, he allowed me to bring Twinkle Little Star. So we went.

On our departure by Garuda, I was hoping that she would behave well and did not need to go to the toilet for, you know. She didn't, fortunately, but she wet the seat! The diaper was not sufficient because she drank a lot. So, eventually we went to the toilet and I changed her there. Boy, how difficult it was to make her stay in that small compact room. She pushed anything and responded so slow when I asked her to put on the diaper and pants. She was busy pushing all buttons and singing and asking questions while I was panic because I kept pushing the wrong button. I wanted water, but it was the soap that came out (it had been a while since I went to airplane toilet - maybe five years ago). Usually I brought her extra pants and shirt in my bag, but I forgot that day. All clothes were in the baggage. So, she wore the wet pants again. When she got back to her seat, I covered her with the blanket.
She behaved pretty nice in the plane. No screaming, just blabbing and asking this and that for the whole two hours. So I had to keep her entertained. I made her watch cartoon (Madagascar 2). She sang "I like to move it move it..."
Then we landed in I Gusti Ngurah Rai international airport in Denpasar. When we were in baggage claim, she said that she needed to poop. For one part I was relieved that she didn't do it in the plane, but for another part, somehow I felt it in my heart that it would not going to be easy.
We went to the toilet and I did my job cleaning her. One thing about her regarding (soap) bubbles, she love bubbles. During the cleaning, I kept reminding her not to touch the floor or the toilet seat or any kind of stuffs that had potential of dirty things. And you know what, she didn't only touch, she tapped the bubbles on the drain with her bare hand! I was nagging while cleaning her with the hand held bidet. When I put the bidet back in its place, somehow it was pressured against the wall and the water splashed really hard to the door, sploshing us! Her hair was wet, my clothes were too. She was giggling and saying with her imperfect "r" sound "The water is splashing you and me, Mama." I didn't have any energy to be upset, so I was just laughing with her instead. Oh well, damage had already been done anyway.
We came out of the toilet and still giggled. We also said sorry to the janitor for making the toilet flooded.
And that was just the beginning of the adventure we had in Bali.

P.S. She screamed and cried out loud in Bali Agung Theatre. During the performance. In VIP seat. Asking me to take her back in the hotel room and make her a bottle of milk.
She was afraid of the dark set and the loud/scary sound. And I would be too if I were in her age...

Love Letter and Leuser ...is coming in December 2015!

Dear Good Friends,
I am very happy to share you the great news, my fourth novel entitled Love Letter and Leuser will be published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama and it will come soon. By early December 2015 you may find it in the book stores! Next week I will give you a sneak peek of the sweet book cover :).

Well, after almost three years of hibernation, finally new book is released. Another one from GagasMedia is coming in 2016. Alhamdulillah...

What's special about this book? Actually I wrote it few years ago, but never got to some last chapters, because you know, making an ending is such a drama for me. Early this year, by accident, I reopened the script and got crazy over the story. I was literally screaming "Hey, where's the next page?! What will happen to those love birds?? Oh, no! Now I have to finish writing it or I'll be having a headache over unfinished story!" So, I wrote and rewrote.

Writing this novel was giving me very warm feeling because the set of the story was a special place. Ketambe Research Station in Gunung Leuser National Park, Southeast Aceh, was the place where I spent almost two months for internship before officially working in the ministry in Jakarta. There I met some wonderful people who became some characters in the novel. So I can say that there are some fictional and factual moments in the novel. Which ones were made up and which ones were real, you may only guess :).

By the way, thank you for being patient with me and willing to wait for my novel. Love you, guys!

SATU (original title) will be published next year by Gagas... Yaay!

Hello, Friends. Hello, My Good Friends (while singing Pororo opening soundtrack).
There's a good news today. My novel, SATU (my original title, I haven't known it will be changed or not) is confirmed to be published by Gagas. This novel has gone through quite long editing process. Almost two years! Yes, it is mostly because I am not  good in writing great novel. It was a learning process for me doing the revision. I had some down moments, which at a point I gave up and let it go... But, fortunately, the kind people in Gagas were helping me out and giving me courage to continue. Thank you so much, Mbak Resita, Mbak Widya and Mbak Jia.

Well, let me tell you a bit about SATU.
It is basically facing your fear. That a past will never go completely, especially unfinished issue. It will go back to you, haunt you and finally find you for a closure. Whether you want to deal with it or run away again, it's you choice.

Here's some teasers.
The main female character in this novel is Galuh.

“To the point saja.

The main male character is Rizal.

"Itu makananku. Aku sudah memakannya sedikit," jawab Galuh dingin. Tampak Rizal menahan kunyahannya. Dia memandang Galuh dan isi piring bergantian.
"Tanggung. Kuhabisin sekalian saja, ya. Atau mau sepiring berdua?" Rizal nyengir.
"Aku mau pulang. Tolong bilang sama Mas Irwan kalau aku tidak suka diperlakukan begini. Dia mengundangku kemari untuk konsultasi desain interior, bukan untuk dikerjain macam begini. Bilang juga padanya, sekali aku bilang nggak mau dicomblangin denganmu, aku nggak bakal mau. Dan kau seharusnya nggak perlu ikut-ikutan skenario mereka. Punya harga diri dikit lah."

"Hei, hei, hei." Rizal berdiri. Agak tersengat dia dituduh Galuh begitu. Emang siapa yang sukarela dicomblangin sama dia?

The sidekick.

The sidekick's girlfriend.

Nadine mengotak-utik smartphone-nya, melihat foto-foto saat ikut acara rafting bersama Irwan dan Rizal beberapa waktu lalu. Foto Rizal dipandanginya lama. Tak sadar senyumnya tersungging. Nadine ingat betapa Rizal sangat menguasai medan dan piawai mengendalikan perahu karet. He’s such a manly man.

Untunglah Galuh menolak laki-laki itu. Sesuai dugaannya. Seperti keinginannya.

The fear...

And there's The Ghost from the past.

“Tidurlah, Cantikku. Aku akan datang padamu. Tunggulah.”

Meanwhile, let's hope my other novel will be published this year... Amin.

Which one? Which one?

Dear Friends,
It has been busy month for me. Juggling with routine at work, routine at home (aka a toddler and a baby) and routine at wonderful world (aka writing) give me a reason to have a rights for foot reflexology. Yet, I haven't had a chance to do it. Of course, routine at home itself is a different kind of foot reflexology I get. You know, chasing down Twinkle Little Star and Little Miss Sunshine to feed them and get them out of trouble.
Anyways, up to this month, there are three scripts I sent to three different publishers. For GagasMedia, the script is in the Editor's hand after revision, but I haven't heard the progress yet. For Bentang Pustaka, I will contact the in the beginning of July to know whether they accept or decline my script. For Gramedia, they have accepted my script and it is in editing process. Question is, which one of those scripts will be published first? Honestly, I don't know :).
Another news, next month I will go to Kunming, China for training on timber legality verification (office duty). Can't wait to see different scenery and hopefully some ideas for next script. Or  I will just enjoy Ramadhan fasting there, which sunset is about 8 p.m. Hmm...
Weight loss now seems a relevant goal.

SMASH! (new cover), released 20 May 2015!

Dear Friends,
My first book, SMASH!, will be reprinted in a new cover and will be released on 20 May 2015.
Here's the cover looks like.

In the end of March 2015, I have sent a new script to a publisher and perhaps they will inform me the assessment result, whether they accept  or decline it, in the beginning of July 2015.
At this moment I also in the process of making revision of my previous script - which I said it needed a lot of work, hopefully I can finish it next month. Again, wish me luck.

Thank you... :).
